Arts Alliance, library friends partner for movie showing

The Franklin County Arts Alliance (FCAA) is partnering with the Friends of the Franklin County Library to provide two showings of Spirit Riders at the Cultural Arts Center on June 5 and 6.

Children’s Father’s Day art workshop planned

Members of the Franklin County Arts Alliance (FCAA) will be hosts for a children’s Father’s Day art workshop. This free event will be Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Cultural Arts Center.

Still Alice movie to be shown at library

The Franklin County Library will be show the Academy Award winning movie Still Alice on Tuesday, May 19 at 2 p.m. The movie stars Julianne Moore as a linguistics professor.

“Bubble Day” June 5

The ninth annual “Bubble Day” sponsored by the Franklin County Library and the Friends of the Franklin County Library, is set for 10 a.m. Friday, June 7 on the downtown plaza.

Award winning movie Still Alice to be shown

The Academy Award winning movie Still Alice will be shown at 2 p.m. at the Franklin County Library on Tuesday, May 19. It is a free viewing. Due to limited seating, those interested will need a ticket. See the May14 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details.

Wine event craft booth deadline is Friday

Area artists and craftsmen are invited to reserve a booth for the Piney Woods Wine Trail Festival in Mount Vernon from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday May 17 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18.
