“Good Grief” support group to meet January 27

“Good Grief,” a faith based support group, will start a new session beginning Monday, January 27 and will continue weekly for six weeks. For more details about the group and information on how to join, see the January 16 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Free dictionaries

Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club and Rotary Interact distributed English and English - Spanish dictionaries to every third grade student at Mount Vernon Elementary School. Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club and Rotary Interact distributed English and English - Spanish dictionaries to every third grade student at Mount Vernon Elementary School. The group also distributed dictionaries to third graders at Saltillo ISD.

Genealogy meeting set

The Franklin County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, January 20 at the research center on Main Street. The program will include a show and tell session. Members and guests are urged to bring family heirlooms or pictures.
