Watermelon Day is Friday, August 7

Free ice cold watermelon will be served to the public beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, August 7 on the square in Mount Vernon.The event is sponsored by the Franklin County Library in observance of National Watermelon Day.

Stouts Creek Cemetery Memorial Day set, Aug. 1

The 58th annual Stouts Creek Cemetery Memorial Day service will be Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Saltillo Community Center. A business meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m.
