Sabella benefit Saturday

A friends for friends party to benefit Jimmy and Pam Sabella will be Saturday, February 22 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Post 3992. Brisket plates will be served, and all the proceeds will be given to the Sabella’s to help them rebuild their lives.

Brannan family to be honored

A Southern Cross Dedication for three Confederate States of America veterans will be at 11 a.m., Saturday February 22, at the Snodgrass and Brannan Cemetery, in southern Franklin County.

Confederate marker dedication Saturday

A Southern Cross Dedication Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22 at the Snodgrass/Brannan Cemetery in southern Franklin County. The three grandsons of Luther B. Brannon, all of whom served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War will be honored during the ceremony.

Easterling to speak at genealogy meeting

The monthly meeting of the Franklin County Genealogy Society will be at 7 p.m. Monday, February 17. The Franklin County 4-H Club’s ninth annual coggins and vaccination clinic was Saturday, February 15 at the Sheriff’s Posse Arena on FM 115. A total of 33 horses were seen at the event.

Alzheimer Support Group to meet locally in March

The Alzheimer Support Group for the Mount Vernon area will meet at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18 in the parlor at Mission Manor Nursing Home at 501 Yates St.
