“Down & Dirty” wrestling Saturday

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Posse is sponsoring East Texas Championship Wrestling “Down & Dirty” Saturday, July 12. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. for the event with action getting underway at 7:30 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Posse Arena on FM 115.The Posse’s concession stand will be open, and the Rodeo Queen contestants will be conducting a bake sale during the event. MOM meeting next Thursday

The MOM (Ministering Our Military) support group will have its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 17. The meeting will be at the Luigi’s Italian Cafe, 2213 W. Ferguson Rd., Mount Pleasant.

Pleasant Hill Cemetery memorial day planned

The Pleasant Hill Cemetery Memorial Day has been set for Sunday, July 13 at the cemetery located on FM 900 West in Franklin County. The event will begin at 10 a.m. with a program and business meeting. See the July 10 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information.

Old Saltillo 2014 Memorial Day set

Old Saltillo Cemetery’s 2014 Memorial Day Program and annual business meeting will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon Sunday, July 20 at the Old Saltillo United Methodist Church.
