EDC approves 2016-17 budget

The Mount Vernon Economic Development Corporation approved their recommended budget for the 2016-17 fiscal year with adjustments in line items to better target areas of need during their quarterly meeting last week.

There is more to do than just race a turtle at the10th annual Mid-Summer Bash and Turtle Derby set for Saturday, July 9 at the Alamo Mission Museum.

Miss Rodeo Texas

Lisa Lageschaar was crowned Miss Rodeo Texas 2016 on Thursday, June 23 in San Antonio. She will now compete for the Miss Rodeo America title in December.

Prepare pet turtles for Alamo’s derby

Set up the tiny treadmills and concoct a work out regimen to prepare your pet turtle for the 10th annual Turtle Derby. The event is planned for Saturday, July 9 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Alamo Mission Museum.
