The Mount Vernon High School Class of 1974 is looking for contact information for eight of its 63 member class. The information is to be used in notifying these missing members of the class’ 40th year reunion.

Saltillo FFA Ag Mechanics team advances to state

Bunny color run set for Saturday

The class of 2019, the current seventh grade group, has organized a Bunny Run as a class fund raising event for Saturday, April 12. The 5K color run/walk will start from the downtown square at 8 a.m.

League of Honor nods deadline approaching

The deadline to nominate candidates for the 2014 Franklin County School’s League of Honor is fast approaching. This is the 12th year for the program, which honors outstanding graduates and employees of the Franklin County Schools.

Mandatory curriculum meeting set for freshmen, their parents

Incoming Mount Vernon High School freshmen and their parents must attend one of two informational meetings about how House Bill 5 will affect graduation requirements in Texas.

Class of 1951 sets annual reunion

The Mount Vernon High School class of 1951 reunion will be for Saturday, May 2. The event will be conducted at the lake home of Steve and Tammy DeWolf with Rex and Barbara Norris as hosts.

Training complete

Army Private Paul DuvallArmy Private Paul Duvall graduated from the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning Ga. February 28. He completed an intensive 16 week program consisting of basic combat training and advanced individual training

James joins honor society

Katelyn JamesKatelyn James was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi last week. She is a junior at Texas State University and is studying to be a science teacher and coach.

Huizinga on President’s List

Cole Huizinga was listed on the President’s List at Lubbock Christian University for the Fall 2013 semester. Mr. Huizinga is a junior studying Criminal Justice.
