NTCC announces Fall honors lists

The Adult Education Department at Northeast Texas Community College will offer free General Education Development (GED) and ESL (English as a Second Language) classes in Mount Vernon this spring.

Seven advance after local Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest

Patriot’s Pen District 12 qualifiersSeven junior high students were selected as winners from the local Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest and advanced to the district level. The contest is sponsored annually by the Franklin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3992.

Classes of 1954 and 1955 have reunion

Price honored

Landon PriceLandon Price, a 2011 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, was named to the American Southwest Conference All Conference First Team in Cross Country for 2013 at East Texas Baptist University.

Fall Festival planned at school, volunteers and items sought
