The City of Mount Vernon is celebrating 2010 as the 100th year of being a chartered city. The Mount Vernon Main Street Alliance is asking that all local organizations “hitch their wagon to the centennial celebration star.”
The main thrust of the celebration will be in two phases. The first will begin with Cypress SpringFest on April 16-17 through Memorial Day weekend, May 28-31. A second phase will coordinate with fall events beginning with the City’s Charter weekend, Sept. 17-19, through CountryFest weekend, Oct. 8-10.
