Junior varsity ladies lose to Greenville
The Mount Vernon junior varsity Lady Tiger softball team lost their game to Greenville on Monday, Feb. 22 3-6. The team will compete in the Longview Tournament March 4-6. For more information, see the March 4 edition of the Optic-Herald.
Tigers have tough start to season
Starting players for the varsity Tigers baseball team were announced last week with the team beginning their season against Winnsboro on Monday, Feb. 22.
Trout fishing event planned
More than a thousand rainbow trout are swimming in the pond at The Nature Center in Tyler, and young anglers are invited to come catch them March 8-11.
