New telephone scam

A new telephone scam has recently been reported. Newspapers in West Texas have received reports that scammers are calling their classified advertising customers, and telling them the newspaper’s computer system crashed.

City grants bed and breakfast exception

A special exception use was granted to Ron Barker to allow use of the house at 515 W. Main St. as a bed and breakfast inn.

Tonic Sol-fa to perform

The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at Northeast Texas Community College will present the vocal group Tonic Sol-fa on Saturday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Jazz, blues concert set at music hall

The Mount Vernon High School class of 1970 and 1971 are having a class reunion planning meeting on Sunday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at the Dairy Queen in Mount Vernon.
