Sears elected United Way prexy, funding letters go out

Brandon Sears, vice-president and branch manager for Guaranty Bond Bank in Mount Vernon, was elected president of the United Way of Franklin County last week.

The department treated the 150 people who stopped by to hot dogs and cold drinks. About $500 in donations was received.

National day of Prayer event set for Thursday, May 1

“One Voice, United in Prayer” is the theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer. The theme is highlighted by Romans 15:6 and the observance of the event is scheduled for Thursday, May 1.
