Curtis Hensley and Dan Auringer of Franklin County were presented with the Silver Beaver award for their outstanding service to scouting. The awards were presented earlier this month at the annual banquet of the NeTseO (Northeast Texas Southeastern Oklahoma) Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America.
The Silver Beaver is the highest honor that can be presented by the Council to an adult volunteer, and it is awarded only to those individuals who have continued, unselfish, and effective service, usually through the programs of the Boy Scouts of America. For more information about the award and recipients, see the March 20 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
