Almost $10,000 was raised for the Community Food Bank of Franklin County through the efforts in conjunction with the chili cook off on Saturday, April 19.
The event had originally been planned for December, but inclement weather caused it to be postponed. A total of $8,800 was pledged to the food bank in December.
Sales of chili by the bowl and quart, entry fees, and other donations received this week added another $1,187.50. For a listing of other winners, see the April 24 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
