The postal carriers at the Mount Vernon Post Office collected more than 5,000 pounds of food during the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday, May 12. Food was collected on the Mount Vernon and Saltillo rural routes for the event. All food collected was given to the Community Food Bank of Franklin County. “I appreciate the participation of all the patrons in our area. The response this year was awesome,” said Postmaster Monty White.
