Warrant roundup

The Mount Vernon Police Department, Municipal Court, and the Franklin County Justice of the Peace have joined more than 250 other agencies and courts throughout Texas in the annual “Great Texas Warrant Roundup.” The roundup, which begins Saturday, Feb. 25, is designed to target thousands of defendants with traffic, parking, city ordinance, penal code and higher offense warrants from the participating jurisdictions. Fire protection plan

Texas Forest Service area leadership will join Franklin County Judge Paul Lovier and representatives from the county’s four volunteer fire departments to sign a Community Wildfire Protection Plan.
