The process for allocating the money collected from the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) will go from a first come, first served basis to more of an annual budgeting process.
The Franklin County Commissioners Court gave a nod of approval for the change at their Monday, Aug. 26 meeting. See the Aug. 29 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for a time line of the application process.
