Members of the Mount Vernon City Council are moving forward with engineering of the $1.7 million Phase 2 waste water collection system replacement and improvements project,
while saying no to pursuing a $500,000 multi-purpose building proposal presented jointly to county and city representatives earlier this month. The Phase 2 waste water project is being made possible by contract adjustments and lower than expected initial bids for the Phase 1 project, according to Chris Aylor with KSA Engineers, Inc. For more about this project, see the March 2 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
