The Hwy. 37 bridge over the Sulphur River on the northern edge of Franklin County was closed to traffic around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21. Runoff from heavy rains received earlier in the week caused the river to rise over the roadway. For more information, see the March 29 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
