Destination Imagination team headed for state this Saturday

team members are, clockwise, Case Oud,  Mason Lowery, Brian Baird, Kristina King, and Brian Baird.Mount Vernon’s Mid-Level Destination Imagination team is headed for the state competition at Dallas’ Skyline High School on Saturday, April 11. The team earned this honor after competing at the regional event at Mesquite High School on Feb. 28.

One-Act Play Bi-District contest at Mount Vernon ISD

The Bi-District round of competition for the UIL One-Act Play will be conducted in the auditorium on the Mount Vernon ISD main campus on Friday, April 10. The first play will be presented at 10 a.m., and they will run back-to-back.

High School UIL team wins sweepstakes

The Mount Vernon High School UIL team garnered more points than the other 14 schools participating and were the Sweepstakes winners at their home practice meet on Saturday, March 21.

Tickets available for Kerry Garmon scholarship dinner

Tickets are available for the Fourth Annual Kerry Garmon Memorial Scholarship Benefit . It will be in the Saltillo Kerry W. Garmon Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday, April 11.

Elementary raises $17,000 for American Heart Association

Fourth grade teacher Kodeann Crawford is pelted by water balloons from all directions after there was 100 percent participation in the American Heart Association fund raising by her students.Students at Mount Vernon Elementary School celebrated raising $17,302.90 for the American Heart Association at the campus wide Heart Rally on Tuesday, March 17.
