Cox is National Merit commended student

The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) has a lodged a formal complaint with Mount Vernon ISD over religious postings, crosses and Bible verses in some classrooms, and quotes on the walls that reference religion.

Pink Out the stadium planned for Friday

Pink Out the Meredith Stadium has been planned for the Mount Vernon Tigers versus Daingerfield game on Friday, October 24. Game time will be at 7:30 p.m.

Mount Vernon Elementary SchoolOctober is National Bullying Prevention Month.  Mount Vernon Elementary School partnered with the national organization, Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights to Become a Champion Against Bullying .
