A group of parents of incoming Kindergarten students camped out overnight in front the Mount Vernon ISD administration building to be the first to submit their applications for the new Dual Language Two Way program on Monday, May 12.
A total of 12 people were in line at midnight with 19 present at 7 a.m. when the doors were opened. Christie Baycroft, Terri Minter, and Jessica Arnold were the first in line around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. MVISD has received 23 applications for the approximately 20 positions that will be available.
