ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 6/25/2009

Sealed bids for the unit price general construction contract for a restroom facility and sidewalk, will be received by Franklin County Water District at the office of Franklin County Water District, 112 N. Houston St., Mount Vernon, TX 75457 until 10:00 a.m., July 21, 2009, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Plans, Specifications, and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following places: Franklin County Water District, 112 N. Houston St., Mount Vernon, TX 75457. Hayter Engineering, Inc., 4445 S.E. Loop 286, Paris, TX 75460, 903-785-0303. McGraw-Hill Dodge, 9155 Sterling Dr., Suite 160, Irving, TX 75063. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Hayter Engineering, Inc., at the above address upon the payment of $35 (payable to Hayter Engineering, Inc.) for each set. The ENGINEER shall refund $10 per complete set of Contract Documents that are returned in good condition to the ENGINEER within 30 days after the date bids are received. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
Each BIDDER must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided for in the Information for Bidders. All bids shall remain good and may not be withdrawn for 90 calendar days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Invitation for Bids, Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon, Texas 6/25/2009

The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon, Texas, will receive Bids for the 2009 (ARRA) CFP, Porch Canopy Additions Project at TX337-001, Site “C” until 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the Housing Authority Office at 944 South Kaufman Street in Mount Vernon, Texas 75457, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposed forms of Contract Documents, including Plans and Specifications, are on file at the Offi ce of the Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon; at the Office of Pat Dismukes, Architect & Planner, 405 West 3rd Street, Mount Pleasant, Texas 75455; at McGraw-Hill Plan Room in Irving, Texas; at Reed Construction Data @ www.reedplans.com., and at ISqFt Quoin AGC Plan Room in Tyler, Texas. Copies of the Documents may be obtained by depositing $ 100.00 with the Architect for each set of documents so obtained. Such deposit will be refunded to each Bidder who submits a Bid and returns the Plans, Specifications and other Documents in GOOD CONDITION within 10 days after Bid opening, and submits a Bid. Contractors who do not submit a Bid, but return the Plans and Specifications in GOOD CONDITION within ten (10) days shall receive one-half of their Plan Deposit. General Contractors will be allowed two (2) sets for Bidding purposes by deposit. Contract Documents are available to Subcontractors, including Material Suppliers, etc. on a “cost-of-printing” basis (which will not be refundable). A Certified Check, payable to The Housing Authority of the City of Mt. Vernon; U. S. Government Bonds; or a satisfactory Bid Bond in an amount equal to fi ve percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds. Attention is called to the provisions for Equal Employment Opportunity, and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Specifications must be paid on this Project.
The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the Bidding. No Bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of Bids without the consent of The Housing Authority of the City of Mount Vernon.

The Alamo Mission Museum Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, June 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the museum located at 1714 County Road SE 4105. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct business and to hear evidence for and against USDA Rural Development Financial Assistance. The $60,000 requested funds are to be used to relocate the McGee schoolhouse from Perryville and two boxcars from Mount Pleasant to Museum grounds, and for costs of restoring them.
