Graveside services for Billy Jack Yarbrough, age 72 of Mount Vernon, were Saturday, May 31 at the Plano Municipal Cemetery in Plano, Texas.
He was born on May 8, 1942 in Rowlett, Tex. to William Thorton Yarbrough and Ruth Butler Yarbrough Clemmer.
Mr. Yarbrough served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He had a life-long career as a welder. He was known for his jokes and for time spent with family. He enjoyed hunting in his free time.
Mr. Yarbrough died Friday, May 23 at Mission Manor Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lester Clemmer, and his mother-in-law, Gohnnie Chaney.
Mr. Yarbrough is survived by his wife, Kathy Lynn Wright of Mount Vernon; mother, Ruth Clemmer of Plano; a son, Brian Yarbrough, and wife, Sarah, of Port Orchard, Wash.; a daughter, Heather Strickland of Mount Vernon; and two stepsons, Phillip Wright, and wife, Crissy, and Curtis Wright, and wife, Stephanie, all of Dallas.
He is also survived by three brothers, Searcy Yarbrough, and wife, Vicki, of Rowlett, Robert Earl Yarbrough, and wife, Cookie, of North Richland Hills, and David Yarbrough, and wife, Mary, of Plano; and by 15 grandchildren.
