Funeral services for Effie Richardson Marshall, age 77 of Pollock, Tex., were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at Carroway Funeral Chapel in Pollock. Burial was in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin with Bro. Dennis Cook and Bro. Roy Hall officiating.
Mrs. Marshall was born Feb. 12, 1933 in Rusk County to Addie Weatherford and Forest Richardson. She had lived in Pollock for more than 50 years where she was a librarian at Hudson ISD for 18 years. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
She died Thursday, Aug. 26. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Thomas Lynn Marshall, a daughter, Janet Leigh Dixon, and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Estell and James Hamilton and Mertie Fay and Rayford Collier.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Calvin Marshall, a son, Joe Marshall, and a son-in-law, Larry Dixon, all of Pollock; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris and Donnie Malmquist, Violet and Kenneth Richardson, and Betty and Charles Shropshire, all of Mount Vernon; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Millie Richardson of Shreveport, La., Clint and Patty Richardson of Pollock, and Darrel and Annette Richardson of Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were John Marshall, Steven Marshall, Danny Dixon, Phillip Dixon, Larry Collier, and Jason Skelton.
