Funeral services for Ivey Mae Rhoades Elledge, age 95 of Mount Vernon, were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Good Hope Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Hamrick and Bro. Clint Davis officiating.
Mrs. Elledge was born March 20, 1915 to Jacob Murphy Rhoades and Ora Lee Coe Rhoades. She was born, reared, and lived her entire life in Franklin County. She was known locally as an accomplished artist and an avid gardner. She was a long-time member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and served as the church secretary for many years.
She died Sunday, Dec. 19. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clive D. Elledge.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Jeanette and Oscar Elliott of Mount Vernon, Dwayne and Mary Pat Elledge of Murphy, and Dwight and Jan Elledge of Mount Pleasant; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ila Fay Patrick of Mount Vernon and Carrie Lee Gilbert and her husband, Leroy, of Picayune, Miss.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons.
