Memorial services and the celebration of the life of Katie Nicastro will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the King’s Country Community Room at 410 King’s Country Blvd., in Scroggins, Tex., 75480.
March 6, 2011 Katherine (Katie) Nicastro left this earth a better place because of her courage, determination, patience, humor, laughter, and her zest for life.
Born September 7, 1939 in San Diego, California to her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Hotchkiss. Katie moved to Dallas, Texas at a young age to live with her Aunt Florence “Posie” Willess.
Besides being a wife, mother (raising her family in Irving, Texas), and grandmother; she was a business woman working for the Four Seasons Hotel in Dallas, Texas and later worked in King’s Country in Scroggins, Texas. Katie studied and lived her religion and shared her talented singing voice with choirs in the Dallas area and was blessed to be a Lay Minister with St. Francis Episcopal Church in Winnsboro. She was a proud member of the Mt. Vernon Rotary and befriended the entire community with open arms.
Katie leaves behind a brother, Stuart Hotchkiss; a sister, Leslie Bevardos; two daughters, Katherine Buckton and Caroline Black; a son, Richard Allerkamp; Grandchildren, Dylan, Chase, Hayley, and Max.
She will be missed and remembered by people having had the opportunity of knowing her. The family is grateful for the friends and medical staff who have been so supportive on various levels during her long and vigilant illness.
Memorial services and celebration of her incredible life will be held April 3, 12:30 p. m. at the King’s Country Community Room. 410 King’s Country Blvd, Scroggins, TX 75480 (903) 860-2133
