Funeral services for Edward “Al” Kennedy, age 75 of Winnsboro, were at 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro. Burial was in the Lee Cemetery.
Mr. Kennedy was born July 1, 1935 in Nevada County, Ark., to L. B. Kennedy and Nobie L. White Kennedy. He was a retired State Farm Insurance Agent and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winnsboro where he taught Sunday School for over 30 years. He served as a member of the board of the First National Bank in Winnsboro, was a City Council member in Winnsboro, and was co-founder nd current president of the Winnsboro Manor. He was a Lady Raiders fan.
He died Tuesday, April 19 in Winnsboro.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jackie Halene Kennedy of Winnsboro; two sons, Jerry Kennedy of Monument, Colo. and Scott Kennedy of Paris; a daughter, Deana Jaggers of Mount Vernon; a sister, Jenny Hall of McKinney; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
