Funeral services for Bill Pryor, age 78 of Mount Vernon, were at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Old Saltillo Cemetery with Rev. Donald Tinsley officiating.
Mr. Pryor was born June 29, 1932 in Mount Vernon to Claxton Pryor and Geneva Tinsley Pryor. He was married to Eleanor Hamilton Pryor. Mr. Pryor had several businesses in Shoshoni, Wyo. and was a maintenance foreman for Lone Star Steel from 1972 to 1990.
He died Wednesday, June 15 in Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2009 and his father.
He is survived by three children, Donna Pryor of Diana, Margaret and Travis Rowland of Monticello, and Linda Peterson of Mount Pleasant; his mother, Geneva Pryor of Mount Vernon; three brothers, Jack Pryor of McKinney, Damon Pryor of Camano Island, Wash., and Butch Pryor of Mount Vernon; four sisters, Jeanette Bailey of Mesquite, Jo Davidson of Mount Vernon, Margie Forman of Casper, Wyo., and Sue Little of Sulphur Springs; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Frank Davidson, Paul Fletcher, Josh Boyd, Butch Pryor, Bill Boyd, and David Stout. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Thayer and Steve Wafford.
