Earl “Buddy” Spradlin

Howard Earl “Buddy” Spradlin was born July 20, 1928 to Ernest and Alvis Spradlin in Pike, Tex. he passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 13, 2011 in Mount Vernon, Texas.
His services were held Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, at 10 a.m. Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiated. Burial was in the Hagansport Cemetery.
Buddy married Trudy Ballard on June 22, 1948 in Dallas, Texas. He is a veteran of the United States Army. Buddy owned and operated an industrial plumbing business for many years in the Garland area. For the last several years of his life he pursued his passion of ranching and farming in Hagansport. He had a heart for agriculture, family, and friends.
He is survived by  his devoted wife of 63 years, two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sherri Spradlin of Sulphur Springs and Marty Spradlin of Hagansport; a daughter, Sue Witt of Gilmer; two granddaughters, Stacy Hrabal and her husband, Michael of Sulphur Springs and Haley Ross and her husband, John of Bogata; four great-grandchildren, Jalyn and Hadlee Hrabal and Jake and Judd Ross; two sisters, Ernestine Myers of Fort Worth and Geraldine Kelley of Waxahacie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of choice or the National Parkinson’s Foundation.
