Funeral services for Charles Deloney, age 53 of Lancaster, Tex., were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at the Denton Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Burial was in the Denton Cemetery with Rev. Nelson R. Johnson officiating.
Mr. Deloney was born Sept. 11, 1957 in Mount Pleasant. He attended school in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Pray Fast International organization, the Guardian Street Ministry, and Rayhar Ministries. He was a Boy Scout Troop leader for Potter House, and he served as the transportation director at the Potter House where he was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2004. He served in conference ministry under T. D. Jakes.
Mr. Deloney died Monday, Aug. 8 at Upper Macungie in Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Vera J. Miller Deloney; a daughter, Scheherazade Deloney; three brothers, Curtis Deloney, Jr., Thomas Deloney, and Andrew Deloney; three sisters, Barbara Deloney, Sandra Martin, and Deborah Deloney; and one grandchild.
