Funeral services for Leona Moore Duffee, age 94 of Mount Vernon, were at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Burial was in the Bogata Cemetery with Bro. Don Duffee officiating.
Mrs. Duffee was born Oct. 4, 1918 in Red River County to Abb and Eula Bankston Moore. She was a retired employee of Midland Memorial Hospital.
She died Wednesday, Jan. 9 in Mount Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Douglas Duffee, and a son, J. D. Duffee.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Tonia Duffee of Mount Pleasant, Edward and Johnnie Duffee of Longview, and Woody and Ann Duffee of Pine Branch; a daughter, Patricia Davis of Cypress Springs; a daughter-in-large, Sonnyia Duffee of Longview; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ellis and Jean Moore of Mount Pleasant and Burl Moore of Bogata; 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dan Eakin, Scott Sommers, Phillip Duffee, Dewayne Hearron, Randy Duffee, and James Duffee.
