Funeral services for Jewel Donica, age 71 of Mount Vernon, were at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Harvey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Providence Cemetery with Rev. Ken Clay officiating.
Mrs. Donica was born on Sept. 29, 1941 in Ludlow, Okla., to Sherman K. Smith and Dorcie Nelson. She married Clovis W. “Wes” Donica in Ludlow on May 16, 1959. She was a long time teller with Prosperity Bank and was a Baptist.
She died Tuesday, May 14 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Duane Smith and Wade Smith; and a sister, Narvonna Hawthorne.
She is survived by her husband, Clovis Donica of Mount Vernon; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Sheila Donica of Mount Vernon; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Allen of Mount Vernon; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Martha Smith of Smithville, Okla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Rick Steed of Mount Vernon; and six grandchildren,
Pallbearers were Robert Smith, Deon Eargle, Tyler Eargle, Brian Hawthorne, Bo Hawthorne, Marty Smith, Billy Hawthorne, and Jessie Smith.
