Funeral services for Jewel Donica, age 71, of Mount Vernon were held at 10 am Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Campbell and Rev. Ken Clay officiating.
Burial followed at the Providence Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Robert Smith, Deon Eargle, Tyler Eargle, Brian Hawthorne, Bo Hawthorne, Billy Hawthorne, Marty Smith and Jessie Smith. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Donica died on Thuesday, May 14, 2013 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.
She was born on September 29, 1941 in Ludlow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sherman K. Smith and Dorcie Nelson. She married Clovis W. “Wes” Donica in Ludlow, OK on May 16, 1959 and he survives. Mrs. Donica was a long time bank teller with Prosperity Bank.
She is survived by her husband, Clovis Donica of Mount Vernon; son, Carl Donica and wife, Sheila of Mount Vernon; daughter, Debbie Allen and husband, Steve of Mount Vernon; brother Carl Smith and wife, Martha of Smithville, OK; sister, Judy Steed and husband, Ricky of Mount Vernon; grandchildren: Ryan Allen, Caitlyn Stroman and husband, Steven, Amanda Spruill and husband, Clay; and Jordanne Donica; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Duane Smith and Wade Smith and one sister, Narvonna Hawthorne.
