Coaches meeting set, sign ups begin

A meeting for anyone interested in coaching a youth team with the Franklin County Soccer Association has been set for Tuesday, August 18. Sign ups for children to play is underway at the Dairy Queen. For more details, see the Aug. 6 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Youth football try-outs set for Saturday, August 8

PeeWees are State Champions

Franklin County PeeWee All-Star baseball teamThe Franklin County PeeWee All-Star baseball team won the 8U AA Junior State Championship on Saturday, July 18 in Longview. They played a best two-out-of-three series against Hemphill at Lear Park.
