Tigers announce varsity team

The Mount Vernon Tiger basketball teams began competition this week for their 2014-2015 season. There are four returning lettermen on the squad. For a listing of team members, see the November 20 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

The junior varsity Lady Tiger basketball team started their 2014 season with wins over both Clarksville and Cooper last week.

Saltillo boys win State Runner-Up

Lady Tigers start season with victories over Clarksville, Cooper

Mount Vernon loses to Redwater

Seventh grade team undefeated in 2014

The Mount Vernon junior high seventh grade football team was undefeated for the 2014 season. Their final victory was 32-6 over the Redwater Dragons on Thursday, November 6. For more information, see the November 13 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Junior varsity team falls to Prairiland

Trick-or-Treat came early for the junior varsity football team with the Prairiland Patriots scoring two touchdowns on trick plays to defeat the Tigers 30-2. For details from the game, see the November 6 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.

Lady Tigers bounce into action with series of scrimmages

All five Lady Tiger basketball teams from junior high through varsity bounced into action last week with scrimmages in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, November 8.

Freshman volleyball claims District Championship

freshmen Lady Tigers volleyball teamThe freshmen volleyball team finished their 2014 season with a 15-1 overall record. They were District Champions and claimed first place in both the Quitman Tournament and the Mount Vernon Tournament.
