Junior high Lions are champions

The Saltillo junior high boys track team claimed the district championship on Thursday, April 7 at Union Hill. The girls were fourth place. See the April 14 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for a listing of individual accomplishments.

Seventh grade Lady Tigers are District Champions

Lions fall to the Bears

Saltillo Lions varsity baseball team fell to Sulphur Bluff Friday afternoon 18-8. The visiting Bears broke open a close game with seven runs in the last two innings for the win.

JV takes down Queen City 5-2

The Mount Vernon junior varsity Tiger baseball team defeated Queen City 5-2 on Tuesday, April 5. Landon Wallace threw 65 pitches to 22 batters over six innings for the win.
