Cutting the tax rate

The City of Mount Vernon hopes to slay the “property tax dragon” as it begins to make an effort to reduce its more than 70 cents per $100 rate over the coming years.

Monthly sales tax revenue distributed

This year for June, Franklin County received $27,491.72 in tax allocations. The City of Mount Vernon received $41,918.45 in tax allocations for June 2010.
