(TENTATIVE) The annual Christmas celebration will continue to be more protracted in 2017. The week-long celebration begins Friday, Dec. 1, with the annual Christmas Parade, a Santa's Village for kids and the lighting of the community Christmas tree on the plaza. Events are being planned for the entire family. These include a Ladies’ Night Out, Story Time with Santa, a Christmas Cookie Bake-Off, the Jingle-Bell Jog, and many more. The celebration will culminate on Saturday, Dec. 9 on the square as Mount Vernon says so-long to Santa for him to make his way back to the North Pole. Watch the Optic-Herald for specifics on times and locations for these events. |
