2009 Nominations open through chamber for community honors

Nominations are being accepted for consideration for the Franklin County Woman, Man and Agriculturalist of the year and Franklin County Hall of Fame awards. Both individuals and organizations may submit nominations. All nominations must be submitted in writing.

Dr. Rutier-Feenstra featured artist for keyboard concert

Dr. Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra from Ann Arbor, Michigan  will be the featured performer at the 2009 Agnes Burns Keyboard Concert. The concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Mount Vernon Music Hall.

Tinsley to speak at genealogy meeting

Friends of Scouting campaign begins

The Friends of Scouting campaign began, Thursday, Feb. 12. Local adult volunteers will be approaching businesses and individuals to contribute to thelocal Boy Scouts of America council. It costs the council about $150 to provide a quality scouting experience for one boy per year. See the Feb. 12 edition of the Optic-Herald for more details.
