Art store to open

Cindy Kent  prepares items for sale at the Old Jail Art Museum. The Franklin County Arts Alliance is opening a gift shop on the ground floor of the Old Jail Art Museum Saturday, Nov. 1. The gift shop will be open six Saturdays, through Dec. 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chamber music

Chamber musicMore than 60 people attended the Whitlock / Clinton Chamber Concert at the Mount Vernon Music Hall on Sunday, Sept. 28. Featured in the performance were pianist Joel Schoenhals, celloist Jolyon Pegis, violinist Kristin Jutras as well as Mark and Ute Miller on violin and viola.

Big Woods Band

Big Woods BandMembers of the Big Woods Band including Sharon Elliott, Bobby Hankins, Stuart Richey, and Charlotte Richey entertained the crowd at the Downtown Business Association’s western dinner on Thursday, Sept. 4. The group will also perform on Thursday, Sept. 18 as the last in a series of Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Music on the Square events for 2008.
