Dyer to speak at Genealogy

October is First Responder Month, and the speaker for the Monday, October 21 meeting of the Franklin County Genealogical Society will be Kenneth Dyer of the Mount Vernon Fire Department.

 He will be discussing fire safety for seniors, home fire alarms, and general preparations to make in case of an emergency or fire. The front windows of the research room at 110 E. Main Street are decorated with numerous first responder equipment and attire.  The meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the Crescent Meeting Room at 108 E. Main Street in Mount Vernon. The public is invited to attend.
