Rotary Club sponsors Purple Pinkie Day at middle school

Members of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club will visit Mount Vernon Middle School for a Purple Pinkie Day Friday, October 5 in an effort to eliminate polio worldwide.

Students at the middle school will have the opportunity to donate $0.25 and then dip a finger into the Purple Pinkie Bucket. Purple paint is used by Rotary to mark children after they have been immunized from polio. To learn more about effort and the guest speaker for Friday’s program, see the October 4 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
