Lions organize

The Mount Vernon Lions Club conducted its organizational meeting in the board room at Prosperity Bank Tuesday night, September 3. Twelve local people gathered for the initial meeting.

Terry Duenkel was elected  as the first president of the organization. See the Sept. 12 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for a listing of the other officers and details about the club.
