RSI’s Gibson: City’s housing market ripe for development

Mount Vernon’s housing market is ripe for a developer/builder approach as real estate agents report “begging” for quality new construction, according to a study completed for the Franklin County Industrial Foundation and Mount Vernon Economic Development Corporation boards over the past two months.

Cassie Gibson, senior vice-president with Residential Strategies Inc. (RSI), a Dallas based new home market research and consulting firm, presented a compressed overview of the study’s findings at a meeting of Foundation board and representatives from April 14.
