Voter turnout low for amendments election

Voter turnout for the  State Constitutional Amendment Election on Nov. 5 was low. A total of 1,251 Franklin County citizens trudged to the polls to complete a ballot.

That is only 18.6 percent of the 6,723 registered voters in the county. Nine of the ten proposed amendments passed in Franklin County and statewide. For details of voting totals for each amendment, see the November 7 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
