Hopes revived to save federal funds for new rail port

Roger Feagley, standing at right, executive director of the Sulphur Springs / Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation (SSHC-EDC), received preliminary approval for access to the NETEX rail line for tentative transload facilities at two of its industrial parks.Hopes to salvage a $1.2 million grant for a new project were voiced during the Northeast Texas Rural Rail Transportation (NETEX) District’s first meeting of 2020.
