Water district looks to reissue bonds at lower rate

The Franklin County Water District’s Board of Directors will pursue information and quotes on refinancing more than $2.6 million in outstanding bonds to take advantage of the current historically low interest rates.

Reissuing the bonds could save the district and taxpayers as much as $285,000 over the next eight year life of the bonds. See the March 26 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more about the process of reissuing these bonds.
