Applications sought for COVID relief

The United Way of Franklin County received a $2,600 grant from Truist Financial Corporation to help provide food, shelter, rental and utility payment assistance and health and medical access as necessary in the community for those affected by the pandemic.

Those requesting assistance will need to provide proof of past due utility, rent, mortgage or medical bills. See the June 4 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald, for information on how to apply for this relief.
