Franklin County currently exempt from mandatory mask order

With COVID-19 cases growing by more than 20,000 people during each of the past two weeks across Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order on Thursday, July 2 requiring all Texans to wear a face covering in public spaces.

The order exempts counties with fewer than 20 active cases. According to the DSHS (Texas Department of State Health Services) website, Franklin County currently has an estimated 18 active cases as of Tuesday, July 7.
